Mrs. Gayathri Arvind

Founder & Director

Mrs. Gayathri Arvind, an entrepreneur turned philanthropist and mental health advocate; she started Abhasa after realizing that conventional rehabilitation centres are not as effective, considering the punishment culture with which patients are managed. The alarming growth in the number of alcoholics and addicts, and lack of centres which provide critical care strongly motivated her to work on a model that takes up a holistic approach in treating their clients physically, mentally and emotionally without the usage of brute force or suppression.


Dr. Rohit Garg

Senior Consultant Psychiatrist

Dr. Rohit Garg, the Director of Mind Vriksha Clinic in CR Park, New Delhi plays a key role in treating addictions at Abhasa. He specializes in adult, child and geriatric disorders after having done immense research work using new techniques like Repetitive Trans-Magnetic Stimulation and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. A winner of many awards and recognitions, he has been bestowed the Rajiv Gandhi Rashtriya Ekta Samman Award and the Best Doctor’s Award in India by Medi Health Magazine in 2011 and 2013. He is recognized by his patients for his virtue of putting human life above everything else and for his charitable work in different parts of the country like Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, U.P and Delhi.

Dr. Ashwin V Samilal

Consultant Psychiatrist

Dr. Ashwin V Samilal, a psychiatrist by choice and not by chance, has been practicing Psychiatry since 2014. He completed his Masters in Psychiatry from PSG Institute of Medical Sciences & Research in 2017. Dr. Ashwin V Samilal believes in providing customized treatment to his clients by enhancing motivation and captaining patients and their families to help individuals of substance use disorders to lead a better life.

Dr. Eashodhavidhya Elango

Consultant Psychiatrist

DR Easodhavidhya Elango completed her medical schooling in India before she moved to United Kingdom in 2005. She completed her foundation years in Mersey deanery, United Kingdom. During those years, she identified her passion and interest in the field of psychiatry. She got selected for the psychiatric training program and trained under the Health Education England, North West Deanery, UK. She has over 10 years of experience in the field of psychiatry and worked in the National Health services, Manchester, until she moved to India in 2020. Her special interest is General adult psychiatry, and has worked across varying specialities of psychiatry including Old age, Drug and alcohol, Child and adolescent Services in the NHS.

Dr. Elango has also trained in Cognitive behaviour therapy and Psychodynamic psychotherapy as a part of her training program. She is also awarded the MRCPsych from The Royal college of Psychiatrist, London, which she is also a member of. She has also completed a Post Graduate diploma in Psychiatry from the University of Manchester. She has participated in teaching programs and carried out quality improvement projects during her time with NHS. She has also presented poster presentation in the international conference, organised by Royal College of Psychiatry, London. Dr. Elango believes in holistic approach, empowering and educating patients and the families when it comes to treating patients.

Dr Ankit Gupta

Consultant Psychiatrist

Dr Ankit Gupta is a consultant psychiatrist practising in South Delhi with 9 years of experience in the field of mental health. He is an alumnus of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. He has worked as Senior Resident psychiatrist at All India Institute of Medical Sciences for three years contributing to clinical, teaching and research activities. He was selected by the prestigious Royal College of Psychiatrists, London for an International training fellowship and worked with a leading NHS Foundation Trust in United Kingdom as Speciality Registrar for two years. He trained in the areas of old-age psychiatry, community psychiatry, early intervention in psychosis, crisis intervention and cognitive-behaviour therapy in United Kingdom and was awarded the Membership of Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) in 2018. He has also worked as Consultant Psychiatrist at Delhi Government’s centre of excellence, Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, New Delhi. In addition, he has volunteered to provide access to mental health services to remote tribal population in Chhattisgarh.

He is also a member of Indian Psychiatric Society, Indian Association of Social Psychiatry, Indian Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health, World Association of Cultural Psychiatry, and International Association for Youth Mental Health.


Dr. Ramalingam p kandaswamy

Dr. Ramalingam is a Fellow in HIV Medicine and Clinical Leadership training, a full-time 1-year fellowship from the Govt Hospital of Thoracic Medicine, Tambaram Sanatorium recognized by the Govt Of Tamil Nadu. He is the Member of Indian Medical Association Coimbatore Branch. And he has worked in the National Health Service UK at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro. He has also worked with an International training center and educational center for Health (ITECH INDIA) Department of Global Health, the University of Washington as a Senior Clinical Trainer. He was associated with NACO India as part of HIV training and curriculum development. He is a specialist in HIV/TB care and Infectious diseases. He is Interested in Clinical Research.


Dr. Gokul Krupa Shankar

Dr. Gokul Krupa Shankar is the Head, Dept. of Surgical Gastroenterology, VGM Gastro Centre, Coimbatore & Course Director, Post-Graduate Fellowship in Minimal access abdominal surgery, TNMGR Medical University. He is known for his proven and effective communication skills with patients, families, and other medical professionals. His leadership abilities are evident in his management of practice staff in providing patients with quality care, ability to quickly and properly diagnose patient conditions in emergencies to ensure they receive the treatment they need as soon as possible under controlled conditions. He provides detailed orientation which reduces mistakes made in patient treatment, diagnosis, and medication administration.

Lata Kashiv

Psycologist ( Program Manager )

A psychologist by choice, with a Masters degree in the subject, she is passionate and dedicated to serving mentally and emotionally distressed, using evidence-based approaches like CBT and Mindfulness. Being an active participant in several seminars on the subject, she has also been a keynote speaker with DPS International, Jammu.

Her primary degree has been a Masters in English Literature, an interest she pursues actively even today. She has been associated with NAB India for women, working with visually Impaired teenagers and adult females, counseling and helping them in enhancing language skills and confidence.

Outside of work in the area of mental health, she also has experience in various sectors which have proven more than just a hobby such as sound recording as a voice-over artist and editor.

K Meera

Clinical Psychologist

Mrs. Meera Krishnanunni is a clinical psychologist who has completed her M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology from University of Calcutta, Kolkata. She has worked in the same University (under CUIPP Unit). She has worked in a Rehabilitation Centre in Kerala, in U.A.E. as School Counsellor and as Child Psychologist in a clinic in U.A.E. She feels strongly for the children and have worked for the same, especially for learning disability, dyslexia, ADHD in children.


Sutheesh Prabhakaran

Counselling Psychologist

Mr. Sutheesh Prabhakaran is an enthusiastic and experienced psychologist, compassionate therapist and a NIMHANS-trained certified counsellor. With double masters in Psychology and Social Work, he has over ten years of intensive practical experience in the field of both de-addiction and mental health. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Guidance and Counselling. He is well experienced in providing specialized psychological assessments, evaluations and various therapies, including CBT. Meditation Therapy, Bibliotherapy, Relaxation therapy, Motivation enhancement, Mindfulness and Insight building are some of his significant areas of interest.

Shipra Dhingra


Shipra Dhingra is an Expressive arts-based therapist licenced by UNESCO-CID and Fortis Healthcare, Shalimar bagh, Delhi. She is also a Counselling psychologist who has completed her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Amity University, Noida. She is the founder of Happyness Peddler, an initiative towards fighting the stigma attached to mental health and spreading the awareness.
She’s a psychologist cum journalist cum mental health advocate. Ms. Shipra has been associated with Covid19 helpline for helping people go through these difficult times.



A compassionate social worker, completed Masters in Social Work with specialization in Medical and Psychiatry. She is skilled in assessment, developing treatment plans, counselling, and evaluation. Empathetical approach towards the clients with active listening skills has been forte.

K Divya


A Psychiatric Social Worker by profession, K Divya has worked in a leading Psychiatric Rehabilitation Centre in Pune and was a part of the National Health Mission. She has pursued her M.Phil in Psychiatric Social Work and has interest in the area of Depression and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and administering Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Depression and Anxiety Disorders.
